Central Jakarta Immigration Office appointed Kebon Kosong Urban Village, Kemayoran, as pilot project of Immigration Assisted Village. The program will be implemented to other urban villages in Central Jakarta.
Hopefully this can protect the community
Kemayoran Sub-district Head, Asep Mulyawan, hopes that the various activities of the Immigration Assisted Village program will run optimally, so that cases of the Crime of Human Trafficking (TPPO) and the Crime of Human Smuggling (TPPM), especially in the Kebon Kosong Village area, can be anticipated.
"Immigration office has run socialization about Immigration Assisted Village to local residents," he said, Wednesday (6/26).
He assessed that this program which aims to prevent TPPO and TPPM will be very meaningful for the people of Kebon Kosong Urban Village. This is because Kebon Kosong Urban Village is located in the middle of the city and is quite dense, making it vulnerable to being used as a location for the activities of TPPO and TPPM perpetrators.
According to Asep, the methods of perpetrators of TPPO and TPPM have recently become more sophisticated. Not only offering work, recently there have been various offers of tourist visits, internships and studying abroad as a mode.
"Residents must be more careful when receiving information about offers for work or travel abroad. This is the importance of the assisted village program," he added.
Central Jakarta Immigration Office Head, Ronald Arman Abdullah, explained the Immigration Assisted Village program exists as an effort by the Directorate General of Immigration to overcome various social problems, such as non-procedural Indonesian migrant workers (PMI), TPPO and TPPM.
This program is expected to provide services that are inclusive and easily accessible to all levels of society.
"Hopefully this can protect the community from various methods of irresponsible individuals, through the participation of all elements of society in the Kebon Kosong Urban Village," he explained.
